In the North of Portugal, Espinho was a small fishing village until a few decades ago and is now a cosmopolitan city, which is a hub for tourists. Part of the Porto Tourist Region, Espinho is only 15 minutes from the city centre of Porto, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Espinho is located around 20km to the south of Porto and is served by the main train line between Porto and Aveiro. The Espinho trains depart from the São Bento train station in central Porto and pass through the Campanhã station before heading south.
